Beth Hallmark joined the Comptroller’s office in April 2007. She serves as the Creative 
director and manager in the Data Services Division, where she works with the award-winning Web, Editorial, Data and Graphics teams to produce a wide range of print and 
electronic materials to assist citizens doing business with the Comptroller’s office. 

In her position, Hallmark has helped lead the agency’s efforts in driving and 
implementing new approaches to government transparency and public interaction with 
government information and data.

Prior to joining the Comptroller’s office, Hallmark worked as the managing editor for 
the Marketing and Promotion Division at the Texas Department of Agriculture. Her 
background also includes experience in print and broadcast journalism. She holds a 
bachelor’s degree in English and a master’s degree in Information Studies, both from The 
University of Texas at Austin.
